LTS Connect Notifications Not Working: Fix Motion Alerts

Motion alerts from LTS Connect not arriving? Walk the full chain — device, app, and phone settings — to get push notifications working again.

If LTS Connect isn't sending you motion alerts, this page walks you through the full chain that has to be switched on — from the camera or NVR, through the app, to your phone's own notification settings. It's written for homeowners and small-business users on iOS and Android.

Why are my LTS Connect notifications not working?

Push alerts only arrive when every link in the chain is enabled. A break at any single point silences alerts everywhere downstream, so it pays to check them in order:

  1. Device — motion detection is on, with an alarm/notification action and an arming schedule that covers the current time.
  2. App — the per-device Alarm Notification toggle is on in LTS Connect.
  3. Phone — your OS allows notifications for LTS Connect, and battery settings let it run in the background.

Walk these three layers top to bottom and you'll find the gap.

1. Check motion detection on the device

The DVR, NVR, or camera generates the event. If it isn't detecting or arming, nothing reaches the app.

  1. Open the channel's settings in LTS Connect (or in the device's web/local menu).
  2. Confirm Motion Detection is enabled for that channel.
  3. Make sure the linked action includes Notify Surveillance Center (the cloud push action), not just on-screen or recording.
  4. Check the arming schedule — alerts only fire inside the armed time blocks. A schedule that's blank or set to the wrong hours is a common silent culprit.

Set up a fresh DVR/NVR? The arming schedule sometimes defaults to a narrow window or stays empty. Set it to all day, all week if you want round-the-clock alerts.

2. Turn on Alarm Notification in the app

Each device has its own notification switch inside LTS Connect.

  1. Go to the device list and open the device's settings (gear icon).
  2. Find Alarm Notification and toggle it on.
  3. If you share this device with family or staff, remember each person enables it on their own phone — the toggle isn't global.

3. Fix iOS and Android notification permissions

Even with the app and device set correctly, your phone can quietly suppress alerts.

On iOS:

  1. Open Settings → Notifications → LTS Connect.
  2. Turn on Allow Notifications, plus Lock Screen, Banners, and Sounds.
  3. In Settings → General → Background App Refresh, make sure LTS Connect is allowed.

On Android:

  1. Open Settings → Apps → LTS Connect → Notifications and enable them.
  2. Exclude LTS Connect from battery optimization (Settings → Battery → App battery usage → set LTS Connect to Unrestricted). Aggressive battery savers are the number-one reason Android users miss alerts.

If you tapped "Don't Allow" when LTS Connect first asked for notification permission at setup, alerts will never appear until you re-enable them in your phone's OS settings using the steps above.

Alerts stopped completely — is my device offline?

If notifications were working and suddenly stopped for one device, the device may have lost its PT Cloud connection. An offline device can't push anything. See our device offline guide to restore connectivity, then alerts resume automatically.

Too many false motion alerts?

The opposite problem — constant alerts from passing cars, trees, or shadows — is fixed at the device, not the phone.

  • Lower the motion sensitivity for that channel.
  • Draw a detection area so only the zones you care about (a doorway, a driveway) trigger alerts.
  • Where supported, switch to smart/human detection to ignore general motion.

Each alert carries an event thumbnail so you can judge at a glance whether it's worth opening — handy while you dial in sensitivity.
