How to Share a Device in LTS Connect

Share LTS Connect cameras, NVRs, and doorbells with family or coworkers, set permissions, add intercom users, and revoke access when needed.

This guide is for LTS Connect owners who want to let other people view cameras or answer the doorbell without handing over their own login. It covers sharing a device by PT Cloud account, what each person can do, how many users you can add, and how to stop sharing.

How Does Sharing Work in LTS Connect?

In LTS Connect, the person who first added the device is the owner. The owner keeps full control and invites others by sending a share to the recipient's PT Cloud account (the email they registered with). Each invited person uses their own free PT Cloud account, so you never reveal your password.

Before you start, make sure the other person has installed LTS Connect and created their own PT Cloud account. You will need the exact email tied to that account to send the share.

How to Share a Device From the Owner Account

  1. Open LTS Connect and sign in to the owner account.
  2. Tap the device (or the three-dot / settings icon next to it) to open its menu.
  3. Choose Share (sometimes shown as Device Sharing or a share icon).
  4. Enter the recipient's PT Cloud account email exactly as they registered it.
  5. Select which permissions to grant (see below).
  6. Confirm to send the invitation.

The recipient gets a sharing request to accept before the device appears in their app.

What Permissions Can You Grant?

Sharing is not all-or-nothing. Depending on the device, the owner can enable or disable individual permissions, for example:

  • Live view — watch the real-time camera feed
  • Playback — search and replay recorded footage on the timeline
  • Two-way talk — speak and listen through cameras, doorbells, or intercoms
  • Remote unlock — release a door lock or intercom strike
  • Push alerts / notifications — receive motion-detection alerts with thumbnails
  • PTZ control — pan, tilt, and zoom on supported cameras

Grant only what each person needs. A neighbor checking your front door rarely needs playback or remote unlock.

How Does the Recipient Accept a Shared Device?

  1. The recipient opens LTS Connect signed in to their own PT Cloud account.
  2. They open the sharing or notifications area and find the pending request.
  3. They tap Accept.

The shared device then shows up in their device list with the permissions you granted. If it doesn't appear, have them pull to refresh or sign out and back in.

How Many Users Can Share a Device?

A single device is added under one PT Cloud account (the owner), and that owner can share it with additional people. For intercoms, sharing supports up to 4 additional users beyond the owner, which is handy for households or small offices where several people need to answer the door.

Many LTS cameras tie to a single PT Cloud account. If you delete the app or get a new phone, reinstall LTS Connect and log back in with the same PT Cloud credentials — do not register a new account, or your devices won't be there. To add the same phone to a household, prefer sharing over re-registering the device.

How to Stop Sharing or Revoke Access

  1. Sign in to the owner account in LTS Connect.
  2. Open the device's Share / Device Sharing screen.
  3. Find the user in the shared list.
  4. Remove that user (or toggle off specific permissions to limit, rather than fully revoke, access).

Once removed, the device disappears from that person's app and they lose live view, playback, talk, and unlock for it. If you suspect your account itself is compromised, change your PT Cloud password from the app instead, which forces all shared sessions to re-authenticate.
