LTS Connect Device Offline: How to Fix It

Why your LTS Connect cameras or NVR show offline, and a step-by-step fix to get devices back online without a factory reset.

If a camera, DVR, or NVR shows "Offline" in LTS Connect, this page walks you through why it happens and how to fix it in order. It's written for end users connecting through a PT Cloud account on iOS or Android.

Why are my LTS Connect cameras offline?

In almost every case, "offline" means the app can't reach your recorder through PT Cloud right now — not that the camera is broken. The usual causes:

  • The recorder lost internet. The DVR/NVR (or a Wi-Fi camera) dropped its connection, or your home internet is down.
  • PT Cloud / Platform Access got disabled. A firmware update or settings change can switch off the cloud connection on the device.
  • The IP or network changed. A new router, a changed Wi-Fi password, or a recorder set to DHCP that picked up a different address.
  • Router DNS or outbound ports are blocked. Some routers, mesh systems, or business firewalls block the outbound traffic PT Cloud needs.

Do not factory-reset the recorder as a first step. A reset wipes your channels, recording schedule, and motion settings, and rarely fixes an offline status. Try the steps below first.

LTS Connect device offline: the fix, in order

Work through these in sequence. Most offline devices come back after step 3 or 4.

  1. Confirm the recorder is online locally. On the NVR/DVR monitor (or by visiting its local IP in a browser on the same network), check the device actually has power and a working network connection. If the recorder itself is dead or unplugged, nothing in the app will help until that's fixed.
  2. Reboot in the right order. Power-cycle your modem/router first and let it fully come back online, then reboot the DVR/NVR. Order matters — the recorder needs a working internet connection to reach the cloud when it starts up.
  3. Confirm PT Cloud shows "Online" on the device. In the recorder's network settings, open the Platform Access (PT Cloud) page. Make sure it's enabled and the status reads Online. If it's disabled or stuck on "Offline," toggle it off and on, save, and give it a minute. This is the single most common fix after a firmware update.
  4. Pull-to-refresh the app device list. Open LTS Connect, go to your device list, and swipe down to refresh. The app caches status, so a device that's actually back online may still show stale "Offline" until you refresh or reopen the app.
  5. Re-add the device if it still won't connect. Remove it from LTS Connect and add it again by scanning the QR code (on the device label or the NVR's on-screen QR) or entering the serial number. This rebuilds the cloud link cleanly.

If the recorder uses DHCP and keeps changing IP addresses, set a static IP (or a DHCP reservation in your router) so the device stays reachable on your network.

One device offline vs. "is LTS Connect down?"

These are two very different situations:

  • A single device offline is a local problem — that one recorder, its network, or its PT Cloud setting. The fix is the steps above.
  • All of your devices offline at once, across more than one location, can point to a wider PT Cloud service issue — but this is rare. Before assuming the service is down, confirm your phone has working internet (try mobile data instead of Wi-Fi) and that you can reach other sites and apps.

If you genuinely suspect a service-wide outage, check the official help center for any posted status notice rather than re-adding devices repeatedly.
