LTS Connect Verification Code & Encryption Help

Understand LTS Connect verification codes, the device encryption password and what to do when a device is locked or you forgot your password.

This page is for LTS Connect users who hit a "verification code," "encryption password," or "device is locked" prompt while adding or viewing a camera. The names overlap and it's easy to confuse them, so we'll sort out which code is which and how to recover each one.

Which code does LTS Connect actually want?

There are three different things called a "code" or "password," and the fix depends on which one you're looking at.

  • Device verification / encryption code — encrypts the live stream and recorded images so others can't view them. Often printed on the device label and sometimes set to a default of ABCDEF until you change it. LTS Connect asks for it the first time a phone views an encrypted device.
  • Account verification code — the email or SMS code PT Cloud sends when you log in, register, or reset your account password.
  • "Device is locked" — not a code at all. It means too many wrong admin-password attempts in a row, so the device temporarily blocks logins.

The encryption code is stored on the device, not in your PT Cloud account. Resetting your account password does nothing to it, and vice versa.

What is the LTS Connect device verification code?

When you add an encrypted NVR, DVR, or IP camera, LTS Connect prompts for a verification (encryption) code before it will show live view or playback. This is the same value sometimes labeled "Encryption Password" or "Stream Encryption Key."

Where do I find the encryption password?

  1. Check the sticker on the device (or NVR chassis) for a printed verification code.
  2. If it was never changed, try the factory default ABCDEF (all caps).
  3. On the recorder's local GUI (connected monitor), open System → Network → Platform Access (PT Cloud) — the current verification code is shown there.
  4. Enter that code in LTS Connect when prompted, then tap OK. The app remembers it on that phone.

What if I forgot the encryption password?

Because the code lives on the device, you reset it from the recorder, not the app:

  1. Connect a monitor and mouse to the NVR/DVR, or open its web interface.
  2. Go to System → Network → Platform Access (PT Cloud settings).
  3. Enter a new verification code, save, and toggle Platform Access off and on.
  4. In LTS Connect, remove the device and re-add it, then enter the new code.

Cameras with no local monitor get their encryption code through the NVR they're attached to. If a standalone camera's code is truly lost, a factory reset (the recessed reset button) clears it — but that also wipes all other settings.

"LTS Connect device is locked" — how do I unlock it?

A locked device is a brute-force safeguard after repeated wrong admin password entries (this is the device login, not the encryption code).

  1. Wait it out — most LTS recorders auto-unlock after a few minutes. Stop trying passwords during that window.
  2. Confirm you're using the correct admin password before retrying.
  3. If you've genuinely forgotten the admin password, use the recorder's security-question / reset option on the local GUI, or contact your dealer for a date-based reset code. There is no remote unlock from the app.

Account verification code & forgot password

For the PT Cloud account (not the device):

  1. On the LTS Connect login screen, tap Forgot Password.
  2. Enter the email or phone number used to register.
  3. PT Cloud sends an account verification code — enter it to set a new password.
  4. No code arriving? Check spam, confirm the address, and request a new code rather than reusing an old one.

Still need help?

If a device stays locked, the encryption code is lost on hardware with no local access, or you can't recover your PT Cloud account, contact LT Security via the official help center or your installing dealer. This is an independent guide site — we can't reset passwords or access your account.

How to Share a Device in LTS Connect

Share LTS Connect cameras, NVRs, and doorbells with family or coworkers, set permissions, add intercom users, and revoke access when needed.
